YOUR FOUR PILLARS
Four pillars
The reading above is an editorial application of the Day Master's traditional symbol to everyday life. Its scope differs from a personal consultation integrating the entire chart.
How is this calculated, and what was checked?
- The year pillar changes at Beginning of Spring; the month pillar changes at the solar-term boundary. They do not change at Lunar New Year or on the first of a Gregorian month.
- Day and hour pillars use the clock time on your birth record. Calculations reflect UTC+8:30 through August 1961 and daylight saving time in 1960, 1987 and 1988.
- Two day-boundary methods exist between 11 p.m. and midnight. We show both when they differ. During daylight saving time, we show clock time and standard time with one hour subtracted.
- The calculations were independently reconstructed from Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute solar-term and daily-cycle data and sourced stem-branch tables. All 345,784 checked times for 1960–2026 matched.
- For times within two minutes of a solar-term change, minute-level source data cannot establish which side of the boundary applies, so we flag the uncertainty.
- Longitude and apparent solar-time corrections are not applied. Different schools may count differently.
